
Bhubaneswar, 28 March (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep grief over the tragic bus accident in the Daspalla area of Nayagarh district that claimed five lives.
Extending his condolences to the bereaved families, the Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia of ₹4 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the next of kin of the deceased. The victims have been identified as Suprava Sahu, Sumati Sahu, Prabin Kumar Sahu, L. Hari Patra, and L. Lakhmi Patra.
The accident occurred late Friday night near Takara Ghati on National Highway 57 when a tourist bus carrying around 60 passengers from Berhampur to Harishankar Temple lost control and overturned after hitting a rock.
