(HS): A police inspector died when his health unexpectedly worsened while on
duty at Etah's police lines, with officials suspecting a heart attack, police
said on Tuesday. Inspector
Raghvendra Singh was on examination duty at the police lines when he suddenly
became unwell, according to authorities. Fellow staff hurried him to Etah
Medical College, where medics pronounced him dead. Singh, a native of Auraiya
district, joined the police service as a sub-inspector in 1998 before being
elevated to inspector in 2016. He was now stationed at a cyber police station. Senior
Superintendent of Police Shyam Narayan Singh and Additional Superintendent of
Police Shwetabh Pandey, along with other authorities, arrived at the hospital
after getting information and assessed the situation.
According
to the police, the corpse has been submitted for a post-mortem examination, and
the specific cause of death will be determined after the report is obtained. Station
House Officer Prem Pal Singh stated that it appeared to be a case of cardiac
arrest. Following the post-mortem, the body will be given a guard of respect at
the police lines before being transported to his native village once family
members arrive, authorities said.
