Mumbai, 24 Mar (HS): The main accused in sexual
exploitation case in Nashik Ashok Kharat’s police custody has been extended
till March 29. Kharat was presented in the court on Tuesday as his police
custody ended on March 24. He was arrested on March 18.
Nashik’s Wada Police demanded extension of Kharat’s custody
based on its findings. Police informed the court that a revolver, 21 live
cartridges, five shells, deer skin, Kasturi, Rs 8 lakh cash have been recovered
from Kharat’s possession.
Kharat’s lawyer argued that Kharat’s revolver is
licenced and all the documents demanded by the police have been submitted. The
lawyer argued that the police has nothing to enquire and police custody should
not be extended.
The court, however, extended Kharat’s police custody
till March 29.
