Prayagraj,
24 March (HS): National President of Pragatisheel Samaj Party (PSP), Engineer
Sunil Kushwaha, expressed deep condolences on the cold storage collapse in
Phaphamau, Prayagraj. He paid tribute to the deceased and wished for the speedy
recovery of the injured. He said that this incident is not only extremely sad
but also exposes the poor administrative system of the state. Targeting the
double engine BJP government of Uttar Pradesh, Kushwaha demanded that a
high-level investigation be conducted into this accident and strictest action
be taken against the culprits. He said that if safety standards had been
ensured in time, this accident could have been avoided.
On party
instructions, State Vice President Ajit Patel, along with party workers,
visited Swarup Rani Hospital and Bailey Hospital to meet with the injured and
their families. He consoled the families and assured them of all possible
assistance. Patel stated that this accident was not a natural disaster, but the
result of gross negligence on the part of the cold storage operators and the
local administration. The neglect of serious issues such as the dilapidated
condition of the building, the old ammonia gas pipeline, and over-storage
resulted in the deaths of innocent workers. This is a clear example of
administrative failure.
State
General Secretary of the Yuva Morcha, Advocate Nishtha Dev, demanded
compensation of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of the deceased and Rs 2 lakh
each for the injured. She said that the current compensation announced by the
government is like rubbing salt on the wounds of the victims. The Pragatisheel
Samaj Party has warned that if immediate action is not taken against the
culprits, the party will be forced to protest. During this, Mazdoor Sangh's
divisional in-charge Naveen Vidyarthi, District Organization Minister Basant
Kanaujia, District Vice President Rajkumar Kushwaha, Ankit Maurya, Rajan Anand,
etc. were present.
