
Guwahati, 24 March (HS): In a significant political development in Assam, senior leader Pradyut Bordoloi has resigned from his post as Member of Parliament from the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency.
Bordoloi, who was elected to the Lok Sabha as a Congress MP from Nagaon, formally submitted his resignation letter on Tuesday to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The resignation has been accepted, marking the end of his tenure as a parliamentarian.
Notably, Bordoloi is currently contesting the upcoming Assam Assembly elections as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from the Dispur constituency, signaling a major political shift.
Following his resignation, the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat is set to witness a by-election in the coming months.------------
