Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has

announced a three-day vacation for state employees from March 2 to March 4,

with pay issued early. Holika Dahan is slated on March 2, 2026, with rigorous

security measures in place to maintain community harmony, such as bans on

obscene music and unlicensed loudspeakers, as well as a mandate for calm,

traditional festivities throughout the state. Yogi Adityanath directed

officials to conduct a five-year assessment of occurrences to maintain public

safety. Increased police patrols are required, notably during Holika Dahan

processions. Vulgar lyrics, music, or activities that might stir communal hate

or harass any group are absolutely forbidden. Loudspeakers that produce

excessive noise must be eliminated via discourse.

The chief minister asked the power department to

maintain a continuous, 24-hour electrical supply during the event, and

transportation officials to manage travel arrangements. CM Yogi has

historically participated in the Holika Dahan and Bhagwan Narsingh Shobhayatra

in Gorakhpur, which promote societal peace. The directions for 2026 stress a

safe, clean, and peaceful event, with threats of stern punishment against

anybody seeking to disturb peace.
