Bhubaneswar, 02 March (H.S.): The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, successfully concluded the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations on March 2, with results likely to be announced by the first or second week of May, BSE President Srikanta Tarai said on Monday.

The examinations, held from February 19 to March 2, were conducted across 3,082 centres throughout the state.

Speaking on the conduct of the exams, Tarai said, “The examinations concluded smoothly as scheduled, without any major incidents. This year, no untoward events or violations were reported.”

He did note a minor issue at Berhampur, where an invigilator accidentally distributed Set A answer sheets to students assigned Set B. “The error was immediately corrected. No violations requiring disciplinary action occurred, and there were no malpractice cases. This smooth conduct was facilitated by CCTV surveillance at all 3,082 centres,” Tarai added.

The BSE President confirmed that the evaluation process has already begun. Objective OMR answer sheets are currently being checked, while evaluation of subjective OMR papers is scheduled to start on March 19.

“Approximately 15,000 teachers will be involved in evaluating papers across 51 centres. If there are no weather-related disruptions, results will be declared by the second week of May. We assure students and parents that the evaluation will be conducted meticulously and without errors,” he stated.
