Kolkata, 16 March (H.S.): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dilip Ghosh on Monday expressed confidence that the party would win the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal.
Speaking to reporters in Kolkata, Ghosh said the Election Commission of India was confident that the polls would be conducted peacefully.
“We are also confident that the voting will take place in a peaceful manner,” he said.
Commenting on the decision to hold the elections in two phases, the BJP leader said conducting polls in multiple phases during the summer season could create inconvenience for the public. He added that a prolonged election schedule often leads to difficulties for voters and the administration alike.
Ghosh also asserted that the BJP would emerge victorious in the forthcoming assembly elections in the state.
