Jammu, 04 January (H.S.): Amid ongoing movement in Jammu over the MBBS admissions at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence, the Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) has decided to hold a one-day hunger strike on January 5, 2026 serving an ultimatum to the Government.
This was announced by YRS President Mandeep Singh Rimpy, while addressing a press conference in the presence of Core Committee and State body members of the Sabha, here today.
Extending YRS support to the Sangharsh Samiti, which is spearheading the ongoing agitation, Mandeep Singh said that the decision to hold hunger strike on January 5, 2026, near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh adjoining Tawi Bridge has been taken to further press the Government for conceding the demand of admission in MVDIME to only Hindu students.
Former President Vikram Singh Vicky and Rajan Singh Happy, who were also present in this press conference, said that Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir are being forced to resort to agitation path for their rights, which are being deprived. “For how long will this continue in Jammu?”he asked and alleged that the State Government, as well as the Central Government was silent on discrimination against Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir.
All members present in the press conference announced to participate in Monday’s protest, stating that “if the Government does not take a decision on this issue very soon, Jammu and Kashmir will witness large-scale violent protests”. They also made it clear that “the Government will be solely responsible for these protests and the breakdown of law and order”.
“If the Government is seen standing against the rights of Hindus, there will be massive protests in Jammu. Therefore,
“The Government should take right decision on this serious issue as soon as possible, Do justice with Hindus for maintaining peace and harmony in Jammu,” said Yuva Rajput Sabha.
