Imphal, 5 January (HS): Security forces in Manipur have arrested an active cadre of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP–Taibanganba) outfit from the Kongba Khunou area under Irilbung Police Station in Imphal East district, police PRO informed on Monday.

The arrested individual has been identified as Tensubam Bangkim Singh alias Chak-thekpa alias Mangang Punshiba (25), a resident of Nambol Leitonjam Makha Leikai in Bishnupur district.

During the operation, security personnel recovered one 9 mm pistol along with four live rounds of ammunition and one mobile phone from his possession. Further investigation is underway to ascertain his involvement in militant activities and possible links with other cadres.---------------
