04 Jan (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during his two-day
visit to Varanasi, spoke openly with reporters after inspecting the Town Hall
night shelter late Saturday evening. He stated that sufficient funds have been
provided to each district in the state for the distribution of woolen clothing.
All district administrations have been instructed to distribute woolen clothing
to the needy on a war footing during the severe cold wave. He stated that under
the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, projects worth
over Rs. 53,000 cr have been approved for Kashi in the last 11 years. More than
two-thirds of these projects have been completed, with the remaining projects
in progress.
The
Chief Minister stated that he was once again fortunate to visit the Kaal
Bhairav and Baba Vishwanath temples in the eternal Kashi on Saturday. During
his visit to Varanasi, he also reviewed and inspected development projects
there.
People
are getting shelter in more than 28 night shelters built in Kashi: The Chief
Minister told the journalists that at the level of Varanasi Municipal
Corporation also, arrangements for permanent night shelters have been made. “More
than 28 such night shelters have been built in Kashi city, through which
thousands of citizens, destitute and people living on the footpath are getting
shelter. Adequate funds have been made available to each district for
distribution of woolen clothes. The administration has been asked to distribute
woolen clothes to the needy on war footing in this severe cold wave. I also got
the opportunity to join in the distribution of blankets done by the Municipal
Corporation and the District Administration,” he said.
