
Bhubaneswar, 04 January (H.S.): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warnings for very dense to dense fog conditions across several districts of Odisha, with the adverse weather expected to persist till January 7.
According to the IMD’s mid-day weather bulletin, an orange warning for very dense fog has been issued for isolated places in Jajpur and Nayagarh districts on January 5 and 6. During the same period, a yellow warning for dense fog has been sounded for Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, and Gajapati districts.
For January 7, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for dense fog at isolated locations in Kendrapara, Jajpur, Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati districts.
The weather agency has advised residents to remain alert and take necessary precautions, particularly during early morning and late night hours, as reduced visibility may affect road, rail, and air transport. Authorities have also urged commuters to follow safety guidelines to avoid accidents during foggy conditions.
