02 Jan (HS): Professor Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal, the BJP MLA from Faridpur, died
suddenly on Friday. After his health suddenly deteriorated at the Bareilly
Circuit House, he was taken to Medicity Hospital, where he succumbed to death.
News of his death has sent shockwaves through the political and academic
fraternity.
According
to reports, a meeting regarding the SIR of the state's Livestock Minister
Dharampal Singh was underway at the Circuit House on Friday afternoon. During
this time, Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal suddenly experienced severe and unbearable
chest pain. Seeing his condition worsen, officers and colleagues were alarmed.
He was rushed to Medicity Hospital. Doctors there tried everything, including
CPR, but his life could not be saved. Dr. Vimal Bhardwaj of the hospital said
that every effort was made to save him, but due to his critical condition, no
success was achieved.
In
a tragic coincidence, Dr. Shyam Bihari Lal had celebrated his birthday just a
day earlier. He had been elected MLA from the Faridpur assembly constituency
for the second consecutive term on a BJP ticket. He also served as a professor
at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University for a long time and was a
distinguished figure in the academic world. His passing away has caused deep
grief within the BJP organization, the university community, and the people of
the region. He is survived by his wife, Manjulata, two daughters, and a son.
One daughter is posted as a Defense Estate Officer in Bareilly.
