Hojai (Assam), 17 August (HS): Two peddlers were arrested with drugs at Lumding Railway Station during a police operation. They were caught red-handed while dealing with drugs.
The Lumding Railway Police carried out a special operation and apprehended two suppliers from outside the state for illegally entering the general compartment of the Assam Agartala–Sealdah Up Kanchanjungha Express train.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Subhankar Das and Pratima Das, both residents of Agartala. According to police, a large sum of money amounting to several lakhs was seized from their possession, which was allegedly brought to Lumding by train.
Investigations are underway to trace the wider network involved in the drug supply chain.
