Bhubaneswar, 18 August (H.S.): Acting on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income, Odisha Vigilance today launched simultaneous raids at eight locations associated with Sri Surendra Behera, Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Division, Angul. The searches are being carried out by teams led by three Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), ten Inspectors, four Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff. The operation is being conducted based on search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh.
The raids are underway at the following locations: a triple-storeyed building at Sundargarh Town in Sundargarh district; a double-storeyed house at M/20, Gopabandhu Nagar, Chhend in Rourkela; Flat No. 403 and Flat No. 402 in Aurovila-1, Phase-3 at Ghatikia, Bhubaneswar; his paternal house at village Ranjhali under Purusottampur Police Station in Ganjam district; his in-laws’ house at village Aladigaon, Beherasahi in Purusottampur, Ganjam; his government residential quarter at 3RA/1, Irrigation Colony, Angul; and his office chamber at the Irrigation Division in Angul.
Searches are currently in progress, and further details regarding assets and findings are awaited.
