Malda, 18 August (H.S.) A 30-year-old youth died in a road accident in Danga area of Sujapur in Malda district. The deceased has been identified as Abdul Ghani. Two others were seriously injured. The injured were rushed to Malda Medical College and Hospital.

According to local sources, Abdul Ghani was going from Sujapur to his native village Baman with his two friends on Monday afternoon. A truck going towards Farakka lost control and hit Abdul Ghani's bike from behind. The bike rider came under the wheels of the truck. The truck crushed him. At the same time, two other youths sitting behind the bike fell on the road. They were rushed to Malda Medical College and Hospital. The condition of one injured is said to be critical, while the other is healthy.

Meanwhile, after the accident, local residents chased the fatal truck and caught the truck along with the driver in Jalalpur area. They started a protest on the national highway along with the family of the deceased. As a result, traffic was completely disrupted. The police from Kaliachak police station reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. Traffic became normal after the body was recovered and sent to Malda Medical College Hospital for postmortem.
