17 Aug (HS): In Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district, bullets were fired during
an encounter between the police and a cow smuggler late on Saturday night. The
cow smuggler was injured and has been admitted to the hospital. A pistol and a
motorcycle have been recovered from his possession. ACP Lipi Nagaich told on
Sunday that the police station Mussoorie was checking on the culvert near
Pipeline Bombay flats. Then a young man was seen coming from Kallugarhi in a
suspicious condition on a motorcycle. When the police signaled him to stop, he
did not stop but started firing at the police party and turned his bike and
started running away. The police also fired back, in which a bullet hit his
right leg and he fell down and was arrested in an injured condition. On asking
his name and address, he told his name as Ayan, resident of village Ujhari,
police station Hasanpur, district Amroha.
