Chennai, 17 August (H.S.) : The Nagai-Lanka ferry service has announced a special discount tour package for students, making international travel more accessible and affordable for young learners. Students between 12 and 35 years old can avail of a discounted package worth Rs 5,000, reducing the original price of Rs 15,000 to just Rs 9,999. This two-night, three-day package includes local air-conditioned transportation, air-conditioned stay, food, and Tamil-speaking guides.

The package tour covers educational and architectural attractions like the Jaffna Public Library, Jaffna Port, Jaffna Market, Mannar Island, and Talaimannar. For a group of 25 students, a teacher can travel for free. The ferry service operates from Nagapattinam to Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka, taking approximately 3.5 hours to cover the 111-kilometer distance.

Booking can be done through the ferry service's online portal, and students are required to submit valid ID proof. Unlike regular passengers, students are allowed to carry only 7 kg of luggage. The discounted package is available for six months, and students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to experience international travel and learn about different cultures.
