Mumbai, 17 August (H.S.): Mumbai witnessed heavy overnight rains on Saturday, leading to a forecast of more showers by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). According to civic officials, the city and its suburbs may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds on Sunday.

While the downpour battered several parts of Mumbai through the night, the intensity eased by Sunday morning. Light showers with intermittent heavy spells were recorded, but no major incidents of waterlogging were reported.

Local train services on the Central Railway route were running slightly late. However, the railway authorities have not specified the exact cause of the delay.
