Hooghly, 17 August (H.S.): A vest factory located on the Delhi road in Piarapur area of Serampore police station in Hooghly district suddenly caught fire on Sunday morning. The fire took a horrific form in no time. As soon as the fire was reported, four fire engines reached the spot and after a lot of hard work, the fire was brought under control. At present, the situation is under control. Till the time of filing of the news, the cause of the fire was not clear and neither could the loss caused by this fire be accurately assessed.

As per information, free training for making readymade garments was given in this factory under the 'Utkarsh Bangla (PBSD)' scheme of the Government of West Bengal.
