Chennai, 17 August (H.S.) : a complaint has been lodged against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for allegedly entering the Tamil Nadu Legislature Secretariat's Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) hostel without proper authorization. This incident occurred amid a series of raids in connection with DMK-linked cases. The ED's actions have sparked controversy, with the DMK condemning the raids as politically motivated and baseless.
The ED had conducted raids on the properties of several DMK leaders, including Minister for Water Resources Duraimurugan and his son, MP Kathir Anand, as well as Minister K Ponmudy and his MP son Gautham Sigamani. These raids were part of an investigation into alleged financial irregularities. The DMK has denied any wrongdoing and accused the ED of attempting to tarnish the party's image.
The DMK has strongly condemned the ED's actions, with party leaders accusing the central government of using investigative agencies to target opposition parties. DMK leader Elango has stated that the ED's justification for its involvement lacks merit, as there were no official complaints or documents indicating irregularities.
The ED's investigation into the DMK leaders is ongoing, with the agency searching multiple locations linked to the party members. The DMK has vowed to continue its fight against what it perceives as politically motivated attacks by the central government.
