Bhubaneswar, 17 August (H.S.) : Kendrapara Town Police have registered an FIR against Ankit Jena, son of former Odisha minister Pratap Jena, over allegations of cheating involving nearly Rs 48 lakh.

The case was filed by Aravind Tripathy, owner of Cuttack-based SSB Electricals, who claimed that Ankit Jena’s company failed to settle dues despite the completion of contracted work.

According to the complaint, SSB Electricals had received a work order from Emporia Walk Works Pvt. Ltd., a company linked to Ankit Jena, for supplying electrical equipment and executing related works in Kendrapara. Tripathy stated that his firm completed the assigned tasks, but the payments totaling Rs 48 lakh remain pending.

Despite repeated reminders, the company allegedly delayed payments, prompting Tripathy to approach the police. He has accused Ankit Jena of deliberately withholding the amount, describing it as an act of cheating.

The police have registered the case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and investigations are currently underway.
