Guwahati (Assam), 16 August (HS): On Independence Day, a scooter (AS-01-EI-0259) was stolen from the courtyard of Munmi Talukdar’s residence at Saukushi Madhav Path in Guwahati. Following the incident, Talukdar lodged a complaint at the Bhasistha Police Station.

Acting swiftly, a police team led by officer Kapil Pathak launched an operation within 12 hours and recovered the stolen scooter from South Village. The accused, identified as Riazul Islam alias Rizul, was also arrested. CCTV footage revealed the thief wearing a mask at the time of the crime.

The community has commended the prompt and effective action taken by the Bhasistha Police. --------
