16 Aug (HS): The Sirsaganj police team arrested a notorious criminal named

Rocky alias Bamba in a police encounter late Friday night. The criminal injured

after being shot in the leg has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Additional

Superintendent of Police City Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Senior

Superintendent of Police Saurabh Dixit had formed 02 police teams to arrest the

wanted accused in the theft case. In this sequence, police station in-charge

Sirsaganj Vaibhav Kumar was patrolling the area with the police team, when

information was received that the wanted accused is coming towards Sirsaganj

from Bake Bihari Dhaba Karhal Mainpuri Road. On the information, the police

team did checking and a motorcycle without number plate was seen coming from

Karhal. On stopping, the suspect riding the motorcycle opened fire on the

police team. In panic, the motorcycle slipped and fell. The accused got shot in

the leg in the retaliatory firing done by the police team in self-defense. The

accused has been arrested in an injured condition during the police encounter.

01 illegal pistol 315 bore, 02 empty cartridges 315 bore, 01 live cartridge 315

bore and 01 stolen motorcycle have been recovered from the possession of the

accused.

said that the injured accused has been identified as Rocky alias Bamba son of

Naresh Gihar resident of Gihar Colony town and police station Sirsaganj

district Firozabad. He is wanted in a theft case registered at police station

Sirsaganj. The injured accused has been admitted to the district hospital for

treatment under police custody. Further necessary legal action is being taken.
