Guwahati (Assam), 18 August (HS): Acting on a theft complaint at the Government Junior Basic School in Chandmari Bamunimaidam, police launched a search operation and arrested the main suspect, Jamir Ali (27).

According to Assam Police Headquarters, several stolen items were recovered from the accused, including a ceiling fan, gas stove, damaged AC inlet, two frying pans and a large saucepan.

Following the suspect’s confession, police also recovered seven stolen ceiling fans hidden under a drain near Hafiz Nagar railway track, six broken fan parts, and 16 tools used in the crime, such as screwdrivers and pliers.

Chandmari Police have registered a case and are interrogating the accused for further leads.
