Lucknow, 15 Aug

(HS): On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, Uttar Pradesh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the state's citizens on Friday. In a

post on X in Hindi, Adityanath said, Heartfelt greetings to the people of

the state on their 79th independence day! This holy day is a beautiful emblem of Mother

India's unbreakable aura and the eternal martyrs' steadfast faith. Tributes to the heroic heroes whose

sacrifices helped India gain independence and respect. Today, our goal is to

develop an India founded on justice, equality, self-reliance, and growth, as

envisioned by our hallowed martyrs. Let

us unite in the spirit of 'Nation First' to achieve the goals of 'Ek

Bharat-Shresth Bharat' and 'Viksit Bharat-Aatmanirbhar Bharat'. Vande Mataram. Jai Hind!, Adityanath said.

Mayawati, the head

of the Bahujan Samaj Party, wished the people a happy Independence Day in a

message released on Friday. Mayawati stated that the nation's interest is in

the interests of all parts of society. Concrete action on a self-reliance

policy is also required for India to save the country and people's lives from

the economic impact of (US President) Donald Trump's arbitrary trade tariff

policy, which is being enforced forcefully under his promise to make America

great again, Mayawati said in a statement. She went on to say that, since

friendship with America proved expensive, it would be preferable if our

country's commerce and trust were not concentrated on any single country.

The BSP head

further stated that overall and people-friendly growth is only feasible if

India is free of all sorts of disorder, including sectarian, casteist,

linguistic conflict, and violence, for which governments bear a unique

responsibility. Conflicts between the Centre and the States would also need to

be resolved, she said in the statement.
