(HS): Three robbers were injured in a shootout on late Thursday night in the
Phaphamau police station area of Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh. Two more
robbers were arrested on their information. Deputy Commissioner of Police
Ganganagar Kuldeep Singh Gunawat and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police
Ganganagar Pushkar Verma said that among the robbers injured by bullets, Faiz
son of Fayaz, resident of Rupapur village of Phaphamau police station area, his
neighbor Altamas son of Mohammad Ibrahim and Alishan son of Mohammad Salim have
been admitted to the hospital for treatment. During interrogation, on the
information given by the arrested robber, the police team arrested Nabi Ahmed
alias Raja son of Wasim Ahmed and Nadeem son of Ahsaas Ahmed, residents of Rudapur.
The police
recovered a total of Rs 4,84,600 in cash and 3 illegal country-made pistols, 5
cartridges, 2 empty cartridges and 2 motorcycles used in the robbery from the
possession of the arrested robber. On August 13, near Shantipuram intersection
in Phaphmau area, unidentified miscreants on a motorcycle had looted Rs 5 lakh
from Chhedilal Gupta, a resident of Sarai taluka, and fled. In this regard, the
police lodged a case and started searching for the suspected robber. The police
team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ganganagar Pushkar Verma
made the arrest near Bela Kachhar under Phaphmau police station area.
