Guwahati/New Delhi, 15 Aug (HS): The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor at the Office of the Deputy Director, Information & Public Relations, Assam Information Centre in New Delhi on Friday.

The national tricolour was hoisted by Bikram Newar, ACS, Deputy Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan cum Deputy Director In-charge, Assam Information Centre. On the occasion, Newar exchanged greetings with employees of the Assam Information Centre and Pragjyotika Assam Emporium.

The national flag was also unfurled at Assam House, Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Marg, in the presence of officials and staff members.
