Delhi, 15 August (H.S.): On the morning of 15th August 2025, the broad, tree-lined roads of Delhi thrummed with the vibrant rhythm of the nation’s spirit. The air, tinged with anticipation, carried the echoes of patriotic songs as India prepared to celebrate its 79th Independence Day—a grand festival of freedom and unity.

In the heart of the capital, a new era for Delhi unfurled alongside the tricolour above Red Fort. At the same historic moment, Delhi’s freshly appointed Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, and her dynamic cabinet joined millions of citizens in commemorating this landmark occasion.

Rekha Gupta: Delhi’s Beacon of Change

Having just made history as Delhi’s fourth woman Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta emerged as a symbol of resilience and renewal. A seasoned leader and once the President of Delhi University Students' Union, she represented the hopes of a rapidly transforming city. As she extended warm Independence Day wishes to every Delhiite, her message resonated with resolve and optimism:

“Today, we stand on the shoulders of giants—our freedom fighters—whose dreams dreamed us into existence. Let us work hand in hand to build a Delhi that is just, equal, and brimming with possibilities for all. Jai Hind!”

The Cabinet’s Collective Spirit

Gupta’s cabinet, sworn in just months prior, embodied the city’s diversity and strength. Each minister, reflecting their own resolve and commitment, shared heartfelt wishes steeped in patriotism:

Ashish Sood (Home, Urban Development, Education): “May the flame of freedom inspire us to educate, empower, and nurture every child and citizen of Delhi. Happy Independence Day!”

Parvesh Verma (PWD, Water, Legislative): “Let us pledge to build and serve a Delhi where every drop and every stone matters. Jai Hind!”

Pankaj Singh (Health, Transport, IT): “A strong Delhi begins with healthy minds and bodies. On this day, we rededicate ourselves to wellbeing and innovation for all.”

Ravinder Indraj Singh (Social Welfare): “Independence means the power to uplift the vulnerable. Today and always, we renew our promise of an inclusive city.”

Kapil Mishra (Law & Labour): “Justice is freedom’s foundation, and labour is its spirit. Let us protect both as we move ahead.”

This day was not only a celebration of India’s hard-won freedom but also a clarion call towards renewed dedication and collective responsibility. The newly minted leadership vows to translate the dreams of independence into tangible progress, fostering an era of growth and inclusivity.

As Delhiites across the city waved their tricolors with pride, they did so inspired by a government that speaks to their aspirations—joining hands to build a luminous future for the jewel of the nation.
