Guwahati, 15 August (HS) The Indian Air Force marked the 79th Independence Day with a captivating 75-minute performance by the No. 7 Air Force Band at the historic War Memorial, Digholi Pukhuri. The event, organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence and Air Headquarters, drew an enthusiastic crowd of citizens, defence personnel and dignitaries.

The 25-member band from Air Force Station, Borjhar, performed 16 patriotic tunes, stirring deep emotions of pride and unity. The venue featured thematic selfie points and banners showcasing India’s recent achievements, including Operation Sindoor, the Chandrayaan Mission, Digital India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Fit India, and the UDAN scheme.

The celebration highlighted the IAF’s role in fostering national integration through music and community engagement. The Air Force expressed gratitude to Guwahati residents for their warm response, making the evening a memorable tribute to the nation’s spirit.
