Kolkata, 14 August (H.S.) The Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) under the Union Home Ministry has sent a list of names of 21 Bangladeshi citizens to the Chief Election Officer of West Bengal. All of them have Bangladeshi passports. Indian voter cards, Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and ration cards obtained through illegal means have been found in their possession. Even Indian passports have been recovered from some of them. Some them had entered India illegally by crossing the Bangaon border, and some Bangladeshi citizens came to India from Bangladesh on medical visa and later brought the rest of their family members to India by illegal infiltration.

Some of them were living in India on tourist visa since 2017. Some had even bought land in Behala. Indian documents were recovered from these Bangladeshi citizens at the counter of the Immigration Department. Earlier, on August 5, the list of 6 more Bangladeshis was sent by the Foreign Regional Registration Office to the office of the Chief Election Officer. A recommendation has been made to the Chief Election Commissioner to cancel the Indian documents of each of them.
