Golaghat (Assam), 14 August (HS): Following the renaming demand for Dhakaipatti in Nagon, the “Public Welfare Forum” in Golaghat has sought the renaming of Islampatti, Shalikapatti, and Golampatti.

In a memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma through the Golaghat District Commissioner, the organization proposed renaming Islampatti after former Chief Minister Golap Borbora, Shalikapatti after renowned artist late Himen Das, and Golampatti in honor of either noted director Shivprasad Thakur, popular actor Maheshwar Barua, or Pradip Chaliha.

The demand was made public by the forum’s spokesperson during a press conference.
