(HS): The last date for installation of High Security Registration Plate (HSRP)

has been extended for the fourth time, up to November 30, 2025, from August 15.

The extension of the date is a major relief to those who have not applied for the new number plate

so far. Only 30 percent of the vehicle owners have applied for the HSRP. New

plates have been installed on 20 percent of the vehicles, while 10 percent have

been given different dates up to December.

The problems

relating to slow registration and problems faced by the centres in installing

the HSRP were discussed during a meeting chaired by the Transport Commissioner.

Extension of the last date has been announced on Thursday evening.
