Guwahati, July 30 (HS): A fresh case of theft has come to light at the Samata Kali Temple in Sonapur, marking the sixth such incident at the temple so far. The temple, situated around 5 km from the Sonapur Police Station, was targeted by a gang of four thieves.
According to police sources, the miscreants broke open the donation box and made away with cash and gold ornaments. The entire incident was captured on the temple’s CCTV camera.
Despite repeated thefts at the temple, no arrests have been made in connection with any of the cases, which has sparked public anger. Locals, who have reviewed the CCTV footage, are demanding swift action and the immediate arrest of all culprits.
