Lucknow, 31 July

(HS): Bahujan Samaj Party National President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief

Minister Mayawati has assured the countrymen that the Central Government will

not compromise on national interest after the US increased tariffs. Former

Chief Minister Mayawati wrote on her social media account on Thursday that

despite calling the country a 'friendly' country, the Central Government will

not let the new challenge that has emerged after US President Donald Trump

imposed a 25 percent duty on Indian imports from August 1 and a penalty on oil

imports from Russia, affect the country's economy by turning it into an

opportunity and self-reliance. The country hopes that the Central Government

will live up to the assurance given to the country that 'there will be no compromise

on farmers, small and medium industries and national interest'. Mayawati wrote

that India is a country of mostly poor and hardworking people with the largest

population in the world, if a policy is made to take the country forward on the

basis of labour force that gives work to every hand and if it is implemented

properly, then the country can certainly become a happy and prosperous country

with self-reliance as well as 'Sarvajan Hitaay and Sarvajan Sukhay', in which

the public and national interest is completely inherent and can also remain

safe as per the humanitarian and welfare objective of the Constitution.
