Government initiates schemes under Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas for all strata, including minorities

Delhi, 30 July (H.S.): Articles 15 (1) & (2), 16 (1) & (2), 25 (1), 26, 28, and 29 (2) of the Indian Constitution ensure freedoms and protection against discrimination for citizens, including minorities, while Articles 30 (1), 30 (1A), and 30 (2) specifically address minority rights.

The Government's policy of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas has led to various welfare schemes aimed at uplifting economically weaker and lesser privileged sections, inclusive of six centrally notified minority communities: Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Parsi, and Sikh. The Government has adopted a holistic approach for scheme implementation, ensuring universal eligibility.

Monitoring mechanisms, such as the Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO) of NITI Aayog, have been established to assess scheme effectiveness, supported by the Output-Outcome Monitoring Framework (OOMF) to track progress toward objectives. Participating Ministries regularly evaluate their schemes, enhancing oversight on implementation and service delivery. This information was reported by Union Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju in the Lok Sabha.
