Delhi, 31 July (H.S.): Rainfall impacted parts of Delhi on Thursday morning, particularly Janpath, Lajpat Nagar, and Minto Bridge, following significant rain a day prior. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted light to moderate rain in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) for Thursday. Areas such as Bahadurgarh and Manesar are expected to experience light to moderate rain, along with light thunderstorms and lightning. Light rain is anticipated across all of Delhi, with very light rain or drizzle expected over the entire region.

From 8:30 AM Wednesday to 6:30 AM Thursday, multiple areas reported varying levels of rainfall, with Salwan Public School in East Delhi receiving the highest at 42 mm, followed by Pusa with 40 mm, Sports Complex at 38 mm, and Safdurjung at 34 mm. Other areas, including Najafgarh, Pragati Maidan, and Lodi Road, recorded substantial rainfall amounts.

The IMD predicts a generally cloudy sky with ongoing rain and thunderstorms, with maximum temperatures forecasted between 30 to 32 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures from 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, remaining below the normal range by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. Commuters in New Delhi, including at bus stops such as Shivaji Stadium and Janpath, faced challenges due to the heavy rain. The forecast for NCR regions includes light rain updates, reinforcing the likelihood of continued inclement weather throughout the day.
