24 July (HS): According to police, the suspected livestock smuggler was injured
during an exchange of fire with police and was later arrested near the Airport Road
cemetery here on Thursday. According to a police statement, cops from Khadda
police stations put up a barricade near the Airport Road cemetery after
receiving a tip. When a pickup truck approached, the cops attempted to stop
it. The driver of the vehicle opened
fire on the team with the intention of killing.
According to the statement, in retaliation, police shot and injured
Maqsood, a resident of Purkhas in Bihar's Gopalganj district. The accused was
then placed under arrest. Six cattle, a pickup vehicle, and a.315 barrel
country-made revolver with one live round and two expended cartridges were
confiscated at the site by police.
The
injured suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment while being held in
police custody, according to an official, who added that a complaint had been
filed under the appropriate sections and that investigations were ongoing.
