Alipurduar, 24 July (H.S.) A government school teacher under Shamuktala police station area in Alipurduar district of West Bengal has been arrested on serious charges of sexual abuse of girl students. The accused teacher's is Bhaskar Pal and he teaches geography in the school.
On Thursday morning, the police arrested Bhaskar Pal from Shamuktala market area and he was produced in the Alipurduar court.
Allegedly , for the last four months, girl students from class VIII to XII were being victims of bad touch i.e. inappropriate physical touch. The girl students told this to their parents, who informed the school administration about the matter. But the school management did not take any action.
After that the parents directly contacted the District Child Welfare Committee. The District Child Welfare Committee constituted a special investigation team of three members. During the investigation, the allegations of the girl students were found to be true.
Based on the report of the investigation team, a report was submitted to Shamuktala police station, after which the police took suo motu cognizance and registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested the accused teacher.
The school administration and management committee have refused to give any statement on this serious matter.
