Hojai (Assam), 24 July (HS): In a continued crackdown against drugs, Assam Police apprehended a drug peddler with a large quantity of banned narcotic tablets from a moving train in Hojai district.

Police said on Thursday that based on a tip-off, an operation was launched. Tinsukia Passenger train passing through Hojai district. During the operation, one person was arrested with a huge consignment of banned tablets.

The arrested peddler has been identified as Amresh Kumar. The operation was led by Karbi Anglong district DSP Jubin Bora. The accused has been handed over to the Lumding Railway Police. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
