Chennai, 24 July (H.S.): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin underwent a successful 'diagnostic angiogram' and a 'therapeutic procedure' at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai after being admitted due to a complaint of dizziness. The hospital has confirmed that the Chief Minister is now in good health and is expected to resume his regular official duties within the next two days.
According to reports, Chief Minister Stalin experienced mild dizziness during his morning walk on Monday, July 21, and was subsequently admitted to Apollo Hospitals. Doctors conducted thorough examinations and found some fluctuations in his heart rate. To address this, a team of expert doctors, led by interventional cardiologist Dr. G. Sengottuvelu, performed a 'therapeutic procedure' on Thursday morning. A 'diagnostic angiogram' was also conducted, and its report was normal, ruling out any serious blockages or issues. Dr. Anil B. G., Director of Medical Services at the hospital, confirmed the Chief Minister's stable health.
Despite being hospitalized, Chief Minister Stalin continued to carry out his governmental responsibilities. He reviewed the progress of the 'Ungaludan Stalin' (Stalin with You) campaign, which aims to address public grievances and deliver various welfare schemes. He also remained active on social media, posting updates about signing government files and receiving reports on program progress from officials while in the hospital.
Following the news of his health concerns, several prominent political figures and dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, telephoned him to inquire about his well-being and wish him a speedy recovery. The anticipated return of Chief Minister Stalin has brought considerable relief and enthusiasm among his supporters and party cadres in Tamil Nadu.
