01 July (HS): In the complaint given to the police, the victim's mother

revealed that on May 8, a Muslim woman in her village, Daraksha Bano, lured her

15-year-old daughter and took her away. She was also lured with money. The

victim told that she was made to meet some unknown and suspicious people in

Kerala. They first lured her with money and then forcibly converted her to

Islam. After this, they started pressurizing her for jihadi training. A

conspiracy to lure a 15-year-old girl to Kerala and push her into terrorist

activities has been revealed in Phulpur, Prayagraj. It is alleged that the girl

was forcibly converted after being taken to Kerala. Then an attempt was made to

push her into jihadi training. Somehow, the girl escaped from the clutches of

the accused and narrated her ordeal to her mother. On June 28, the police

registered a case on the complaint of the mother in Phulpur police station and

arrested the youth and a woman involved in the conspiracy.

In

the complaint given to the police, the victim's mother told that on May 8, a

woman from another religion of her village, Darksha Bano, lured her 15-year-old

daughter and took her away. She was also lured with money. The accused Darksha

reached near the Phulpur flyover with the daughter, where a young man named

Mohammad Kaif, who was already standing there, took her to Prayagraj Junction

on a bike. On the way, the accused youth also molested the daughter. Then the

accused Darksha reached Delhi with the daughter and then took her to Thrissur

in Kerala.

The

victim said that she was made to meet some unknown and suspicious people in

Kerala. They first lured her with money and then forced her to convert. After

this, they started pressuring her for jihadi training. She got scared by this.

Somehow she ran away from there and reached Thrissur railway station and called

her mother and told her the whole story. During this time, the Kerala police

noticed her and she was handed over to the Child Welfare Committee.

On

receiving information from Kerala Child Welfare Committee, the mother lodged a

complaint in Phulpur police station. On this, the police contacted the Child

Welfare Committee and got the girl back safely. Also, on the complaint of the

mother, the accused Daraksha Bano and Mohammad Kaif were arrested. Meanwhile,

the victim was temporarily admitted to the One Stop Center.

Accused

Daraksha's friend Taj is also on the police radar: A young man named Taj is

also on the radar of Prayagraj police, who is said to be a friend of accused Daraksha.

According to police sources, investigation of Daraksha's mobile phone revealed

that he had talked to Taj several times from Prayagraj till he reached Kerala.

He is originally from Phulpur, but has been in Kerala for the last several

years. Police has also shared information about him with Kerala police.

Teenager

was pressured to undergo Jihadi training, poor class girls were targeted: The

accused's network is spread from Prayagraj to Kerala and many other states.

They prepare minors for anti-national activities. They conspire to target poor

girls by converting them on the pretext of marriage. Police arrested two

accused after preliminary investigation. Three teams were formed for

investigation. After forcibly converting the teenager, she was pressured for

Jihadi training.

Minor

of other communities and converts them. Then they prepare them for

anti-national activities. Currently, three teams have been formed to identify

the gang's network and other people involved in it. All aspects are being

investigated thoroughly.

Gang

network spread in many states including Kerala, UP: DCP Ganganagar Zone Kuldeep

Singh Gunawat said that initial investigation has revealed the involvement of

an organized gang behind this entire conspiracy. The accused arrested in the

case, Daraksha Bano and Mohd. Kaif are associated with an organized and radical

gang. This is an interstate gang, whose network is spread in other states

including Kerala.
