Guwahati, 1 July (HS): The Assam government has ended the Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2024–25 with historic success. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Tuesday that this year a record purchase of 6.97 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been done, which is the highest ever.

Sharing the comparative data of previous years, the Chief Minister said that KMS 2022–23: 5.92 lakh metric tonnes, KMS 2023–24: 3.14 lakh metric tonnes and KMS 2024–25: 6.97 lakh metric tonnes were recorded.

He described it as a proof of the government's commitment towards ensuring Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers.

Thanking the entire team who contributed to this success, the Chief Minister said, This achievement is an indication that we are fully dedicated to connecting our farmers to the market and getting them their fair price.
