New Delhi, June 13 (H.S.): Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weidong in New Delhi. They discussed restoring civilian flights, sharing hydrological data, and trade issues. The Ministry of External Affairs noted that bilateral relations were reviewed since their last meeting in Beijing on January 27, 2025. Both countries committed to stabilizing relationships and restoring trust through people-focused initiatives.

Misri thanked China for aiding the Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage's restoration and expressed hope for progress on hydrological data sharing, with a trans-border river cooperation meeting set for April 2025. They agreed to expedite resuming direct air services and finalized the Air Services Agreement soon. Discussions also covered simplifying the visa process and enhancing media and think tank dialogues. Programs for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations were positively reviewed, with an emphasis on advancing trade dialogues.
