New Delhi, June 13( HS): BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh criticized Punjab's Bhagwant Mann government, condemning the Aam Aadmi Party's land pooling scheme as unconstitutional and a conspiracy against poor farmers. He called for the scheme's immediate withdrawal, emphasizing that he spoke to farmers from 37 villages in Ludhiana East whose land, over 24,000 acres, is included in this initiative.

Chugh argued that the scheme endangers farmers by leaving them vulnerable to market forces, providing only minimal compensation. He described it as a calculated plot to unjustly seize land. Highlighting urban land mismanagement, he noted that over 20% of urban land in Punjab remains unsold, raising doubts about the efficacy of the new scheme for small landholding farmers. Chugh accused the Mann government of lacking a clear agricultural policy, recalling unfulfilled promises from the Aam Aadmi Party regarding loan waivers and MSP enhancements made before the 2022 elections. He criticized the government for prioritizing political events over farmers' welfare.
