New Delhi, June 14(HS): COVID-19 cases in the country continue to rise, with active patients reaching 7,400. The Ministry of Health reported 269 new cases in the last 24 hours, alongside nine deaths, including three from Kerala, four from Maharashtra, and one each from Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. All deceased had underlying health conditions. In Kerala, an 83-year-old man with CAD-SS and heart failure, a 67-year-old kidney transplant recipient, and a 61-year-old with type 2 diabetes and hypertension were among the fatalities.
On a positive note, 11,967 individuals have recovered from COVID-19 this year. Currently, Kerala has the highest number of active cases at 2,109, followed by Gujarat (1,437), West Bengal (over 700), Delhi (672), and Maharashtra (613).
