Delhi, 12 June (H.S.): Lt Gen BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, visited the Headquarters South Western Command in Jaipur during his official visit to India from 11th to 14th June 2025. He was welcomed by Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, and engaged in discussions on regional security, joint training initiatives, and capability development.
Lt Gen Rodrigo also interacted with senior officers to exchange operational experiences and enhance army cooperation. His itinerary includes visits to military and heritage sites to explore India's rich military and cultural heritage. The day will end with a formal banquet hosted by Lt Gen Singh, fostering camaraderie between the army leadership. This visit highlights the commitment of Sri Lanka and India to strengthen their defence cooperation, built on shared history and mutual trust, encompassing joint exercises, capacity building, and coordinated responses to regional challenges.
