Ghaziabad, 12 June (HS): Wave City

Police has arrested an accused who was absconding in the recent murder case of

Noida Police constable Saurabh in Nahal village of Mussoorie police station

area during an encounter. The accused was injured in this encounter that took

place during wee hours on Thursday. He was a resident of Nahal village and his

name is Sajid. ACP Priyanshi Pal said that several teams were formed to arrest

the absconding accused in the murder of constable Saurabh in village Nahal

police station area Mussoorie in the early hours of Thursday. This morning, on

the information of an informer, it was found that wanted criminal Sajid from police

station Mussoorie is coming from Dasna towards Kazipura. On the information,

Inspector Anil Rajput along with his team reached Wave City police station area

and the SHO Wave City along with his team jointly started intensive checking of

suspicious persons and vehicles on Dasna Kazipura road. When a suspicious

person was signaled to stop on a bike, instead of stopping, this person turned

his bike quickly towards the unpaved road. Due to the uneven road ahead, his

bike slipped and fell. Then the police surrounded him. Seeing himself being

surrounded, he fired at the police team while running with the intention of

killing. So the police retaliated. During this, the accused Sajid was shot in

his left leg. Sajid was arrested in an injured condition. The injured accused

was immediately sent to CHC Dasna Ghaziabad for treatment. An illegal pistol of

315 bore, one live cartridge, 1 empty cartridge and 1 red bike were recovered

from his possession.
