Guwahati, 13 June (HS): A delegation of Assam Gana Parishad met Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma at his official residence on Friday morning to celebrate the unopposed election of Birendra Prasad Baishya as the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate in the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.

AGP President and Minister Atul Bora, Working President and Minister Keshav Mahanta, MP Phani Bhushan Choudhury and newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Birendra Prasad Baishya were present on the occasion. He thanked and congratulated the Chief Minister on behalf of the party.

Chief Minister Sarma called upon Baishya to play an active role in the development and protection of the interests of the state in Parliament and wished him all the best and warmly congratulated him for his future work.
