Srinagar, 12 June (H.S.): In a bid to bring tourists back to valley after Pahalgam incident, the students of Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh organized 6th Shikara Race at Ghat number 18, Dal Lake, Srinagar.
Sakina Itoo, Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the event.
Minister flagged off the race and around 50 shikaras participated in the race on the theme “Aryans Welcomes You in Kashmir”.
Addressing to the gathering, Sakina Itoo appreciated the students and management of Aryans Group of Colleges.
She said, “I have already seen the positive role of Aryans Group when, after the Pahalgam incident, Kashmiri students studying outside the valley were disturbed due to various incidents. Aryans not only opened its hostel doors to affected students but also took an active step to conduct special semester exams for JK students, working alongside me.”
Dr Kataria extended his gratitude to the Minister for participating in the race and inspiring students.
He appreciated Kashmir’s beauty, stating that it is and will always be a heaven on earth, unaffected by negative incidents like the Pahalgam.
Dr Kataria also commended the Aryans JK students, who, despite studying outside the state, consistently think about the Valley’s well-being and praised their efforts in successfully organizing the 6th Shikara Race.
